Our Story

Sadie’s Place is located in Meredith, NH,
surrounded by the beautiful lakes and mountains. Thanks to a pair of philanthropically-minded sisters, Skrungloo Farm, Inc. was established in 1986 with the mission of enriching and strengthening their surrounding communities. The sisters began the Foundation by providing grants and scholarships to community organizations and students. Their eventual goal was to create what is now Sadie’s Place; a transitional housing shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children.

Sadie’s Place allows residents the opportunity to redevelop the confidence and financial security needed to transition into independent living. Located in Meredith, New Hampshire, Sadie’s Place provides residents easy access to employment, healthcare, a good school system and other essential resources in a safe community setting.

Sadie’s Place partners with New Beginnings- Without Violence and Abuse to ensure residents are able to receive healthcare, counseling, mental health services, child care, and other needed services.

What We Offer

Living spaces are set up as individual suites or efficiency units, with private bedrooms, bathrooms, and living spaces for each family.
Location features a nice yard and outdoor space for recreation and personal reflection time.
Building is safely located at the end of a cul-de-sac.
Security features include video surveillance, restricted access, panic buttons, and sensor lighting.
Confidential support and advocacy for victims of domestic violence and their children.
Ample parking.
Laundry on site.

Sadie's Place...

Helps victims of domestic violence and their children from Meredith and surrounding communities.
Provides residents with short-term (6 months to 2 year), independent living arrangements.
Ensures a safe and comfortable place for residents and their children to begin to heal and to rebuild.

Allows residents to transition from emergency housing or safe houses to self-supported living.
Helps prevent homelessness or a return to abuse due to financial need and lack of support.
